Mobbs excels with 6 for 15.
The rain-affected match, played in difficult conditions, resulted in
a comfortable victory for CACC, which completed their best ever
season.
The VP's batted first and a fine big hitting 47 by
Rob Godfrey was the backbone of their total. The CACC attack was led
by the bronzed spray-on tanned Harvey. Whether the batters could not
see him in the gloom, or it was the helpful wicket, but a fine spell
indeed resulted. Good overs from Jason and Nick Harris kept the VP's
in check. Even newly married Ant West, waving to his child bride as
he strode out to the wicket, quickly returned with a duck following
him back to the pavilion.
In form Nick Harris top scored for
CACC with 26 and the total set by the VP's was soon passed.
The end of season banquet followed and well done to all for
providing such a splendid feast.
Well, a great season is
finished and we have all had much fun, and again our sincere thanks
must go to the Compton Family for allowing us the privilege of
playing at Castle Ashby.
